VEEDERSBURG — Mrs. June Holmes, 68, former Veedersburg clerk-treasurer, died at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Rudisill Nursing Home at Covington. She had been in failing health for two years. A daughter of William A. and Nina Ellis Sage, she was born in Veedersburg Jan. 1, 1895. She was a graduate of Veedersburg High School and married Grover Holmes June 1, 1919. He died Feb 18, 1951. Mrs. Holmes served as town clerk-treasurer for eight years prior to her last illness. She was a member of the First Christian Church here. Survivors include two sons, Robert W. of San Luis Obispo, Calif., and James of Veedersburg; four grandchildren, and a brother, Russell Sahe of Kansas City, Kan. Funeral services are announced for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First Christian Church with Rev. James Dyson the minister. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday at the Parham Funeral Home.
